The Riding Therapy Center (RTC) of Victoria, (Donum Dei, Inc., Latin for Gift From God) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1989 by Hank & Judy Gillespie. The RTC is honored to serve the Victoria and surrounding communities with its Equine-Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT) program for individuals with disabilities, special needs, or mental illnesses.
Therapeutic Riding is an Equine-Assisted Activity and Therapy (EAAT) with the purpose of improving the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social well-being of individuals with disabilities through the teaching of horsemanship skills.
As a Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.) Premier Accredited Center, The RTC provides a unique and effective form of therapy to children (ages 4 and up) and adults with various special needs, disabilities and mental illnesses. Every aspect of the lesson is done with or while riding the horses and is tailored to the individual rider’s goals and abilities.
